Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 316 AM EDT Thu Aug 24 2023 Valid 00Z Fri Aug 25 2023 - 00Z Fri Sep 1 2023 A rather uneventful weather pattern is expected across the Hawaii domain for the upcoming week, with the main surface high anchored in place well northeast of the Islands near 40N/150W drifting some towards the south over the weekend, and a col in the ridge axis develops north of the western Islands as a frontal boundary stalls well northwest of the state. In terms of sensible weather, trade wind flow should generally be out of the east at 10-20 mph through Friday, and then perhaps veering some to the ESE next weekend as the col develops northwest of the state. Trades may increase some going into the middle of next week as the pressure gradient tightens over the state. No major incursions of tropical moisture are expected, with typical trade wind enhanced showers on the windward terrain. Hamrick
