A preferred composite of still reasonably compatible model and
ensemble guidance indicates that upper troughing will shift
gradually westward from the state and vicinity in the short term
in a pattern with lightened island trades. A guidance composite is
preferred to mitigate smaller scale differences consistent with
predictability.  Below normal moisture should overall limit shower
activity for much of the state, but deeper tropical moisture is
expected to lift into the southern islands Wednesday/Thursday to
fuel some localized downpours over the Big Island. Trades may
slowly return to moderate levels this weekend into early next
week. Otherwise, expect slow to rise heights in the wake of upper
trough passage into late week and next weekend along with a return
to below normal moisture availability and shower activity.
