A favored composite of reasonably compatible model and ensemble
guidance indicates that below normal moisture should overall limit
shower activity for much of the state this period. However,
guidance and latest blended TPW loops show deep tropical moisture
skirting the southernmost islands today. This could fuel a
localized downpour over the Big Island. Weakened trades should
slowly return to moderate levels this weekend into next week as
high pressure builds and brides back to the north of the state.
This should allow an uptick of windward based shower activity.
