Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 359 AM EDT Sat Nov 04 2023 Valid 00Z Sun Nov 05 2023 - 00Z Sun Nov 12 2023 High pressure to the north of Hawaii will increase the pressure gradient and therefore enhance the trade winds over the state to breezy to windy levels for the next few days. Upper-level ridging aloft will cause low available moisture and generally dry conditions, which combined with the winds will lead to fire weather concerns. The exception to the dryness could be with a frontal boundary that is forecast to stall to the north of the state this weekend, with pooling moisture just ahead of it sneaking into Kauai by early next week. Rain chances look to peak there around Monday-Tuesday and perhaps lasting into midweek. The ridge aloft looks to start weakening around Tuesday, though with some differences in the details of the resulting mid-upper flow. At the surface, trades should on average remain moderate to breezy. This could allow for increasing windward/mauka showers for the latter half of next week. Tate
