Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 258 AM EST Sun Nov 05 2023 Valid 00Z Mon Nov 06 2023 - 00Z Mon Nov 13 2023 High pressure to the north of Hawaii will continue to support enhanced easterly trades to windy levels through the early part of the week. Upper-level ridging aloft will cause low available moisture and generally dry conditions, which combined with the winds will lead to fire weather concerns, and the Honolulu Weather Forecast Office has issued Red Flag Warnings for the fire potential. However, by Monday-Tuesday a band of moisture associated with a frontal boundary is forecast to sink south a bit into Kauai and then Oahu and increase shower chances there, especially for windward/mauka regions. The mid-upper ridge should be eroding by Tuesday-Wednesday, while a slight weakening of the pressure gradient slightly reduces winds to more moderate to breezy levels. Moist conditions could persist especially over Kauai. Then by the latter part of the week, breezy trades and lower heights aloft should promote windward/mauka showers for the latter half of next week through much of the state. Tate
