An amplified upper trough and moisture pooling front will progress
gradually eastward across the central Pacific early this week, but
the front will slow and stall with approach toward the state. This
will occur as the southern portion separates into a closed upper
low/disturbance to the northwest of the state by Tuesday that
should meander and weaken offshore through late week before
working and lingering over the islands this weekend. Moisture
offers some rain potential for the state as a strong surface high
builds to the north of Hawaii and increases island trades. This
solution is reasonably well depicted by a favored composite of
compatible and consistent model and ensemble solutions.
