A compact and moisture pooling closed low will meander and weaken
offshore to the northwest of the state over the next few days.
Meanwhile, strong high pressure building to the north of the state
will continue to support strong and gusty island trades that will
persist into early next week as the high shifts gradually
eastward. This pattern will favor windward terrain/mountain
showers daily under a mean weakness aloft, with few showers
spilling leeward. This overall solution is well depicted by a
favored composite of compatible and consistent model and ensemble
solutions, bolstering forecast confidence. The potential digging
of an amplified mid-latitude system to the north of the islands
heading into next midweek may act to slightly ease trades.
