Guidance agrees that a weak and elongated surface high pressure
ridge over Hawaii should generally hold in place into the weekend,
allowing for a land/sea breeze pattern. A favored guidance
composite indicates that lower than normal moisture and rising
mid-upper heights into next week, as the pattern flips to ridging
aloft, will promote drier than normal conditions across the state.
Trades are expected to gradually restrengthen later weekend and
next week back to moderate or breezy levels as the typical high to
the north redevelops. Moisture levels may also finally tick up to
normal or slightly above normal later next week for some possible
increase in showers, but coverage still may be relatively limited
under lingering upper ridging.
