A persistent mid-upper ridge is in place across Hawaii, and on
average this ridge will remain through this week and weekend,
serving to suppress notable rainfall. A minor increase in moisture
Monday or Tuesday, and then a weak trough moving westward across
Hawaii on the southern side of the ridge around Thursday, could
both increase shower coverage at times, favoring windward areas.
Overall a dry pattern is likely late week into the weekend, with
just a few windward showers. Moderate trades are likely to
continue Monday, but increase to breezy levels Tuesday-Wednesday
as high pressure north of the state strengthens. Breezy trades are
forecast to persist into through late week and into early next
week as the surface high continues to strengthen.
