High pressure will be situated to northwest of the islands with
upper troughing to the north/northeast which will keep weaker
trade winds in place for most of the week. This pattern will
support showers that focus mainly along windward/mountain areas
and given that the airmass will be drier than normal for early
August, rainfall amounts will
mostly be light with periodic enhancement possible as pockets of
higher moisture move through. Moderate to breezy trades may return
by early next week as an upper ridge builds east/over the islands.
