Hawaii can expect trade winds to be on the weaker side on Friday
as a surface low well to the north disrupts the typical pressure
gradient. Trades should gradually strengthen to moderate and then
breezy levels through the weekend and early next week as the
surface ridge builds to the southwest toward the state. These
breezy trades look to persist through next week, with some model
signal to strengthen even further by late week. Through the
period, some showers are possible favoring typical windward/mauka
areas. These may peak in coverage and amounts around Sunday-Monday
as weak energy aloft moves through, but widespread heavy rain is
not expected.
