Moderate to locally breezy trade winds are likely through the
weekend as the typical surface high around 40-45N is in place,
with some showers favoring windward and mauka areas. For
Sunday-Monday, tropical moisture (with precipitable water values
reaching near or over 2 inches) is forecast to be pulled north
into at least the Big Island with some moisture reaching Maui,
which should increase rainfall coverage and amounts. Slightly
stronger trades are possible Monday-Tuesday as the pressure
gradient tightens up temporarily. By midweek into later next week,
moderate to locally breezy trades remain likely, with some showers
but not any widespread heavy rain.
