Moderate trades are likely late this week into the weekend, with
nothing stronger expected given a weaker than typical surface high
to the north of Hawaii. Upper ridging aloft will keep showers on
the light side, favoring windward areas. By around Monday, there
is likely to be a brief increase in moisture moving across the
state for some minor enhancement of rainfall. Around
Tuesday-Thursday, trades are forecast to strengthen as the surface
ridge to the north returns. By later next week the trades may
decrease once again, while another potential surge in moisture
will continue to be monitored.
