Light to moderate trades are likely into the weekend, with nothing
stronger expected given a weaker than typical surface high to the
north of Hawaii. Upper ridging aloft will keep showers on the
light side, favoring windward areas. By around Monday, models show
a surface trough accompanied by an increase in moisture moving
east to west across the state for some minor enhancement of
rainfall. Trades are forecast to strengthen around
Tuesday-Thursday as the surface ridge to the north returns. By
later next week the trades look to decrease once again, while a
weak upper low approaches the state and could cause another
potential surge in moisture, which will continue to be monitored.
