Models and ensembles reasonably agree that a slow approach of a
trailing cold front into the islands from the north over the next
few days will pool moisture and along with slow moving upper
support act to focus some enhanced lead showers and thunderstorms
over the state. Predictability also seems above normal that potent
high pressure will be reinforced while bridging to the north and
northeast of Hawaii this weekend and next week. This will act to
strengthen and maintain island trades in a generally drier pattern
with windward terrain favored showers under a lingering weakness
aloft.
