Upper ridging over Hawaii should continue to support moderate to
strong trade winds through at least this weekend. Trade winds
should trend weaker and shift in a more southerly direction as a
weak shortwave and cold front pass just north of the main islands.
This may bring some increased moisture and sea breeze influenced
precipitation early to mid next week. By Thursday, the guidance
continues to show a cold front and associated moisture band
reaching very close or into the main islands, with some increase
in showers expected. There is some uncertainty still on how far
south the cold front may reach but a general model compromise
should work well at this point given typical low predictability
this far out in time.
