Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 247 AM EST Wed Jan 01 2025 Valid 00Z Thu Jan 02 2025 - 00Z Thu Jan 09 2025 Moderate to locally breezy trade winds should continue over the next couple of days, with a surface ridge of high pressure to the north of the state. Moisture levels will gradually drop but any showers that do form will favor windward/mauka areas. Winds are forecast to gradually veer Friday into Saturday in response to a front stalling northwest of Hawaii. Overall these winds should be weaker and would allow land/sea breezes to set up with mostly fair weather. This pattern is expected to last into early next week. Southerly winds may increase by Tuesday ahead of another front. This front has a better chance to reach the western islands around midweek with pooling moisture and winds shifting to be from the northwest, so this will continue to be monitored. Tate
