Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 236 AM EST Sun Jan 26 2025 Valid 00Z Mon Jan 27 2025 - 00Z Mon Feb 03 2025 A more unsettled weather pattern is expected across Hawaii this week. Breezy trades will persist today, increasing moisture ahead of a cold front approaching from the northwest. The cold front is expected to slowly move across the state early this week, with northerly winds in its wake and an increase in shower activity. The front will likely stall and lift back north across the state mid-week ahead of a wave of low pressure diving southeast towards the region. This wave of low pressure will likely pass just north of the state and could skim the northern islands on Thursday. Winds will become variable and gusty, and showers will become widespread with the heaviest precipitation focused over the northern islands. This low will exit to the northeast on Friday and push a trailing cold front south across the state. Quieter weather should return next weekend with typical shower activity for favored locations.
