Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 241 AM EST Mon Jan 27 2025 Valid 00Z Tue Jan 28 2025 - 00Z Tue Feb 4 2025 A more active weather pattern is in store across Hawaii for the upcoming work week. A cold front will likely reach the Big Island Monday night, and then stall and lift back north across the state by mid-week ahead of a developing wave of low pressure tracking towards the region from the west-northwest. The model guidance suggest this surface low pressure will likely pass just north of the state and affect the northwestern islands on Thursday night and into Friday. The ECENS is a little farther north but stronger with this low compared to the GEFS mean. Low level winds will become stronger and gusty at times, and showers will become widespread with the heaviest precipitation focused near the windward terrain. This low will exit to the northeast on Friday and push a trailing cold front south across the state, with improving weather for the weekend. Hamrick
