Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 253 AM EST Sun Feb 02 2025 Valid 00Z Mon Feb 03 2025 - 00Z Mon Feb 10 2025 A cooler and drier airmass in place over Hawaii after a cold frontal passage during the last couple of days. Generally northerly winds will shift to northeasterly Sunday as a surface high sets up northwest of the state, and winds maintain that direction through Monday-Tuesday. Light showers may form and favor windward and mauka areas, especially by Tuesday as a weak boundary moves through, but a generally drier than normal environment should keep these limited. A weakening surface pressure gradient and troughing influence aloft could lead to a land/sea breeze dominant pattern for midweek. Into later week, models vary with whether a front will push through the state or not, but regardless should not cause impactful weather other than winds perhaps shifting. Easterly trades may redevelop next weekend, and there are hints that enhanced moisture may return by early next week. Tate
