Moderate to breezy easterly trades are likely through the rest of
this week as midlatitude surface high pressure systems track well
north of Hawaii. Meanwhile lowering heights aloft as an upper
trough sets up will allow for some instability, while normal to
above normal moisture levels are in place. This will add up to a
wet trade wind pattern with showers and possibly a few
thunderstorms favoring windward and mauka areas, as well as
leeward areas of the Big Island, with the heaviest showers most
likely Thursday-Friday. 

Through the weekend and into early next 
week, moderate to breezy trades are likely to persist. But model 
guidance continues to show moisture levels gradually decreasing 
for fewer showers.
