An upper low/trough now over Hawaii offers some instability, 
while normal to above normal moisture levels remain pooled. 
Moderate to breezy easterly trades also continue as surface high 
pressure bridges to the north of the state. This adds up to a wet
trade wind pattern with possibly some heavy showers and a few 
thunderstorms today. Some activity may linger into Saturday.

Through the rest of the holiday weekend, moderate to breezy 
trades are likely to persist, but guidance continues to agree in 
showing moisture levels and showers gradually decreasing as the 
trough aloft slowly slides away. Trade winds may weaken slightly 
to moderate levels by Tuesday-Friday in this drier pattern.
