Over the weekend, a surface high is forecast to strengthen and 
edge closer to Hawaii, which will increase easterly trade winds 
across the state as the pressure gradient tightens. Drier air will
also be in place and limit shower coverage, so conditions 
favorable for fires may be a concern.

Early next week, trades should return to moderate to locally 
breezy levels. Meanwhile a weak low aloft may allow for a raised 
inversion while waves of higher moisture move through. This should
lead to a comparatively wetter trade wind pattern next week. 
Moisture levels look to peak around Tuesday-Wednesday and linger 
into Thursday. Showers should favor windward and mauka areas, but 
widespread heavy rain is not expected.
