Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 256 AM EDT Tue Oct 21 2025 Valid 00Z Wed 22 Oct 2025 - 00Z Wed 29 Oct 2025 The main subtropical high will be centered well to the north of Hawaii through the middle of this week. By Friday into next weekend, the ensemble means are indicating the surface high rebuilds closer to the Islands near 30 degrees north, and this high slowly works its way to a position northeast of the state by next Monday, with a col developing in the ridge axis. A weak upper level trough nearby will help sustain a modest inverted trough near and just south of the state through Thursday, but it does not appear to be strong enough to advect deeper moisture from the ITCZ northward. Therefore, the typical trade wind enhanced showers can be expected on most days with no major rain events expected over the coming week. Hamrick
