A weakness in the upper ridge today/Monday will persist through 
about Thursday with upper ridging building back in north/over 
Hawaii through Saturday. By Sunday, a deeper shortwave will swing 
a cold front towards the islands early next week with increased 
showers and winds. The GFS is an outlier right now showing a 
cutoff closed low developing north of the islands while the better
consensus is for a more progressive upper trough/shortwave.
