A front over the Plains will move slowly southeastward to Middle Mississippi Valley/Southern Plains by Thursday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms from parts of the Central Plains and Middle/Upper Mississippi Valley that will move eastward to the Ohio Valley/Lower Mississippi Valley also by Thursday. Rain will develop over parts of the Upper Midwest and move to the Lower Great Lakes/Northeast and intensify to light to moderate rain by Thursday morning. In addition, easterly flow around high pressure over the Northern Rockies will produce upslope flow aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central High Plains through Wednesday morning. A lingering front and upper-level energy over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico will produce showers and thunderstorms over the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast and the Southeast through Thursday morning. Elsewhere, a weak front will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest overnight Tuesday moving to the Northern Rockies and dissipating by Thursday.
