A front extending from the Upper Great Lakes to the Central Plains then to the Northern Rockies will move eastward to the Northern Appalachians to the Ohio Valley then Central Plains/Northern High Plains by Saturday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Great Lakes to the Central Plains, likewise, moving eastward to the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and the Ohio Valley by Saturday. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Northeast on Friday. Additional upper-level energy will trigger showers and thunderstorms along the western part of the front from the Northern High plains to the Central/Northern Plains, also on Saturday. Meanwhile, upper-level energy over the Southeast and the Central/Eastern Gulf Coast will produce showers and thunderstorms over the area through Saturday. Additionally, monsoonal moisture and diurnal heating will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest/Great Basin and portions of the Southern/Central Rockies through Saturday.
