A quasi-stationary front extending from the Carolinas to along the Central/Western Gulf Coast will have a wave of low pressure travel over the boundary. The front will trigger showers and thunderstorms, with moderate rain at times, over the Southeast/Eastern Gulf Coast expanding into parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Friday evening. Upper-level energy over the Northern High Plains will move southeastward to the Southern Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley by Friday morning. The disturbance will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern/Central Plains the will move to parts of the Central/Southern Plains by Friday evening. In addition, diurnal heating and a plume of moisture will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of North-Central and Central Texas on Thursday. Furthermore, weak monsoonal moisture will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of extreme Western Texas and Southern New Mexico on Thursday. Elsewhere, upper-level troughing over the Pacific Northwest Coast and a plume of Pacific moisture will produce scattered areas of light rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Friday.
