A quasi-stationary front extending from the Southeast roughly southwestward along the Central Gulf Coast will be the focus for showers and thunderstorms, with moderate rain at time, through Saturday evening. By Saturday evening, the showers and thunderstorms will expand northward into parts of the Mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, upper-level energy moving southeastward over the Central/Southern Plains will produce showers and thunderstorms over the region through Saturday morning. In addition, high pressure will dominate the weather from the Great Lakes to the Northeast.
