A quasi-stationary front extending from the Carolina Coast roughly southwestward to the Central Gulf Coast will focus showers and thunderstorms near the boundary through Tuesday evening over the region. Upper-level energy over the Upper Great Lakes will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Upper Great Lakes on Monday. Daytime heating and monsoonal moisture will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies, the Great Basin, the Southwest, and parts of Eastern California during the late afternoon and evening through Tuesday. In addition, a front moving southeastward out of South-Central Canada will move to the Northern Plains intersecting moisture that will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday evening.
