Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 321 PM EDT Tue Sep 03 2013 Valid 00Z Wed Sep 04 2013 - 00Z Fri Sep 06 2013 ...Temperatures will be 10 to near 20 degrees above average for parts of the Northern/Central High Plains... A front extending from the Northeast Coast to the Carolinas and westward to the Southern Plains will continue to move off the Eastern Seaboard, while lingering over the Gulf Coast States before beginning to dissipate on Thursday. Rain with embedded thunderstorms will develop ahead of the boundary over parts of the New England Coast late Tuesday night. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near the front over the Gulf Coast States through Thursday morning. A second front over the Upper Midwest will move eastward to the New England Coast and southward to the Ohio Valley by Thursday. Rain will develop along parts of the front over New York on Wednesday evening moving into New England Coast by Thursday morning. In addition, an upper-level low over the Pacific Northwest Coast will inch farther eastward over the Northwest through Thursday. The increase upper-level energy will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Pacific Northwest eastward to the Northern Rockies and portions of Great Basin. Elsewhere, daytime heating and monsoonal moisture will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms over the Southern/Central Rockies and parts of the Southwest mainly during the late afternoon and evening through Thursday.
