A front extending from the Great Lakes southwestward to the Central Plains the into the Northern Rockies will move southeastward to off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast and inland from the Carolinas to the Northern Plains then into the Central Rockies by Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop from the Great Lakes to the Middle Mississippi Valley on Saturday evening becoming more widely scattered over the Middle Mississippi Valley into the Tennessee Valley/Central Appalachians on Sunday into Monday. Rain will develop along the front over the Northeast ending Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, a wave of low pressure over the Northern High Plains will move eastward to the Northern Plains by Monday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Northern High Plains and into the Central/Northern Rockies, expanding eastward into the Upper Midwest. Over the southwestern corner of the country, upper-level energy combined with diurnal heating and monsoonal moisture will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southwest, Great Basin, and parts of the Southern/Central Rockies through Monday. In addition, easterly flow off the Gulf of Mexico will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Western Gulf Coast, also through Monday. Furthermore, a dissipating front over the Florida Peninsula will aid in developing showers and thunderstorms over the southern tip of the state from Saturday into Monday morning.
