Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 359 PM EDT Sun Sep 08 2013 Valid 00Z Mon Sep 09 2013 - 00Z Wed Sep 11 2013 ...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the Northern Plains/Northern High Plains... ...Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above average from parts of the Northern/Central Plains eastward to the Great Lakes to parts of the Tennessee Valley/Lower Mississippi Valley... A front extending from the Mid-Atlantic to the Middle Mississippi Valley and northwestward to the Northern Plain/Northern Rockies will move southeastward off the East Coast by Monday evening. A wave of low pressure on the western end of the boundary over Northern Plains will move eastward to the Upper Great Lakes while trailing a front southwestward to the Central High Plains by Tuesday morning. The boundary will be mainly dry over the East Coast, but a few showers and thunderstorms may develop over parts of the Central Appalachian through Monday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will be associate with the wave of low pressure over the Northern Plains/Northern High Plains that will move eastward into the Great Lakes and parts of the Northeast, while also trailing along the front into the Middle Missouri Valley by Tuesday. Meanwhile, easterly flow off the Gulf of Mexico will trigger showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Western Gulf Coast through Tuesday. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Southern Florida along an old boundary also through Tuesday. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture and daytime heating will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies and parts of the Great Basin/Southwest Sunday into Tuesday morning.
