Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 428 AM EDT Sun Sep 15 2013 Valid 12Z Sun Sep 15 2013 - 12Z Tue Sep 17 2013 ...Heavy rain possible over extreme southern tip of Texas... ...Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above average over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region and the Northern Rockies... Hurricane Ingrid is forecast to move westward over the Bay of Campeche into Eastern Mexico. Easterly flow off the Western Gulf of Mexico and some precipitation associated with Ingrid will produce showers and thunderstorms over the southern most tip of Texas through Monday. Some of the moisture associate with Ingrid and the flow off the Gulf will allow showers and thunderstorms to develop over Western Texas on Monday evening. Similarly, easterly flow off the Atlantic will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over the Southern tip of Florida through Monday. Furthermore, a dissipating front over the Southeast and the Gulf Coast States will trigger widely scattered showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southeast and Central Gulf Coast on Sunday. Meanwhile, a front extending from the Great Lakes to the Central Rockies will move southeastward to off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Monday evening, while extending westward from the Southeast to parts of the Southern Plains. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary over the Central High Plains to the Middle Mississippi Valley through Monday morning, waning to an area over the Central Plains by Monday evening. Rain will develop along the front over the Upper Great Lakes moving southeastward to the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic/Tennessee Valley by Monday morning. A small pocket of rain will be over parts of Southern New England Coast along with a few showers and thunderstorms over parts of the North Carolina Coastal area by Monday evening. In the meantime, a front developing over the Pacific Northwest will slowly move eastward to the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains by Monday. The system will produce showers and thunderstorms over parts of the interior Pacific Northwest through Sunday, with rain along the Pacific Coast. The showers and thunderstorms will move inland to the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains on Monday, while rain will continue over parts of the Pacific Northwest. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern/Central Rockies due to monsoonal moisture and diurnal heating through Monday evening.
