A storm over the Great Basin will move eastward to the Central Plains by Wednesday morning. The system will produce snow over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies, Great Basin, and the Northern Plains on Monday evening, diminishing to light snow over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies by Wednesday. The associated stationary east-west front will extend from the Central Plains to the Central Appalachians through Wednesday, too. Moisture flowing northward out of the Western Gulf of Mexico will overrun the boundary producing light rain over parts of the Central Plains with a few pockets of rain/freezing rain over parts of the Dakotas on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. South of the front, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern Plains expanding into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley/Central Plains on Tuesday into Wednesday. Light rain will also develop over parts of the Ohio Valley/Central Appalachians Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.
