Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 248 AM EST Sun Nov 03 2013 Valid 12Z Sun Nov 03 2013 - 12Z Tue Nov 05 2013 ...New snow for parts of the Northern/Central Rockies... A storm over the West-Central U.S./Canadian border will slowly move eastward to South-Central Canada by Monday evening. The system will produce snow over the Northern Rockies and parts of the Great Basin/Central Rockies through Sunday evening. Additional upper-level energy will dig over the Great Basin on Monday producing more snow over parts of the Central Rockies. In addition, onshore flow will produce rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Monday too. Overnight Sunday, moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will stream northward over the Plains/Mississippi Valley and intersect the associated front over the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes producing rain over the area on Monday. Moisture from the Gulf of California will move northeastward over Mexico into the Lower Rio Grande Valley aiding in the development of rain over the region Sunday into Monday. The Gulf of California moisture will combine with the moisture coming northward off the Western Gulf of Mexico on Monday aiding in extending the rain over Southwestern Texas over the Southern Plains into parts of the Middle Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. Elsewhere, easterly flow off the Atlantic will produce scattered light rain along parts of the Southeast/Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast on Monday.
