Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 357 PM EST Fri Nov 08 2013 Valid 00Z Sat Nov 09 2013 - 00Z Mon Nov 11 2013 ...A quiet weather pattern is setting up over the lower 48 this weekend... Zonal flow setting up over the lower 48 will keep weather quiet across much of the Nation this weekend. Rain and snow showers will be possible with a surface low and cold front racing across the Great Lakes on Saturday and lifting through New England on Sunday...but the quick progression of the system and a lack of moisture across the region should keep precipitation totals to a minimum. Light precipitation will also be possible over the extreme northwestern corner of the Country as a deep upper vortex drops southward off the British Columbia coast and then retrogrades back into the Eastern Pacific. Across the southern tier of the Nation...a weak piece of energy aloft could trigger a few showers as it lifts through the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley on Saturday...and a frontal boundary lingering in the Caribbean could bring some showers and thunderstorms into the southern tip of Florida this weekend.
