Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 329 AM EST Mon Nov 11 2013 Valid 12Z Mon Nov 11 2013 - 12Z Wed Nov 13 2013 ...Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees below average over the Northern Plains to parts of the Upper Great Lakes... A strong front extending from the Great Lakes to the Central Plains will move eastward off the East Coast and southward to the Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday evening. Cold high pressure over South-Central Canada will sink southward to the Middle Mississippi Valley/Central Plains also by Tuesday evening. A streak of snow will develop over parts of the Northern Rockies to parts of the Middle Missouri Valley on Monday morning, ending by Monday evening. Rain will develop along and ahead of the front from the Great Lakes to the Middle Mississippi Valley, moving into Southern New England Coast to parts of the Mid-Atlantic/Tennessee Valley by Tuesday morning. On the backside of the precipitation shield, snow will develop from the Great Lakes to parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys and into parts of New England also by Tuesday morning. In addition, rain and higher elevation snow will develop over parts of the Carolinas by Tuesday evening. Furthermore, lake effect snow will develop behind the boundary Monday into Tuesday morning with the lake effect beginning to wane by Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, a front over the Eastern Pacific will move to the West Coast and dissipate on Tuesday morning. The system will produce light to moderate rain along the West Coast from the Pacific Northwest to Northern California late Monday night to Tuesday morning. Rain will linger over parts of the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday and develop over parts of the Northern Rockies by Tuesday evening. Additionally, an old boundary and easterly flow off the Atlantic will produce showers and thunderstorms over the southern tip of Florida through Tuesday.
