Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 334 PM EDT Sun Mar 23 2014 Valid 00Z Mon Mar 24 2014 - 00Z Wed Mar 26 2014 ...Temperatures will be 10 to 25 degrees below average from the Northern High Plains eastward to the Mid-Atlantic... High pressure over the Upper Midwest will move eastward to off the Northeast Coast by Tuesday. A quasi-stationary front extending from Florida across the Gulf Coast States and along the front range of the Rockies will have waves of low pressure moving along the boundary through Tuesday. The disturbances will produce showers and thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast. Rain will develop along parts of the Carolina/Mid-Atlantic Coast on Sunday evening, ending later Sunday night. Meanwhile, a disturbance moving out of Western Canada will move southeastward to the Ohio Valley by Tuesday. The energy will produce light snow over parts of the Northern/Central Rockies and Northern High Plains into parts of the Northern/Central Plains by Sunday evening. The snow will wane over the Northern High Plains by late Monday afternoon. While another area of snow over the Middle Missouri Valley will move into the Upper Great Lakes/Western Ohio Valley by Monday evening. The energy will induce low pressure near the Southeast Coast as snow develops over the Great Lakes into parts of the Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday morning. Rain will also develop along the Southeastern Virgina and Carolina Coast on Tuesday morning. Another area of high pressure will move southeastward out of Western Canada to the Central Plains by Tuesday morning. Additionally, a front over the Eastern Pacific will approach the Northwest Coast and Northern California on Tuesday.
