Low pressure over the Ohio Valley will be absorbed by deepening storm along the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Coast. The low over the Ohio Valley will produce snow over parts of the Great Lakes and rain over parts of the Ohio Valley on Tuesday morning. As the low along the East Coast deepens, the system will become quasi-stationary near Long Island, New York Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening. The storm will pull moisture off the Atlantic producing moderate to heavy rain over the Mid-Atlantic Coast that will move into New England Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Areas of rain/freezing rain will develop over parts of interior Mid-Atlantic/Central Appalachians and move into parts of Northern Appalachians by Wednesday. Snow will also develop over parts of the Central Appalachians into the interior Northeast. The snow will become moderate over parts of the interior Mid-Atlantic/Lower Great Lakes and parts of the Northern Appalachians on Wednesday. Meanwhile, multiple system will move into the Pacific Northwest through Wednesday evening. Upper-level jet dynamics and plumes of moisture along the Northwest Coast will produce light to moderate rain over parts of Northern California and the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday. On Wednesday, moderate to heavy rain will develop along the Northern California/Pacific Northwest Coast as the next front moves onshore by Wednesday evening. Elsewhere, upper-level energy over the Middle Mississippi Valley and energy moving across the Southern Plains will aid in producing rain over areas of Southern Rockies/Southern Plains and parts of the Central Plains Tuesday evening into Wednesday evening.
