A wave of low pressure over the Ohio Valley will quickly move off the Mid-Atlantic Coast by Tuesday night. The system will produce rain and snow over parts of the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley on Tuesday morning. The snow will move into parts of Southern New England while rain develops over parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, a front over the Northern Intermountain Region to Southern California will move eastward to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Central Plains to the Great Basin by Wednesday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region and move into parts of the Northern Rockies/Northern High Plains from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning. Rain will also develop over parts of the Northern High Plains on Tuesday that will move into the Northern Plains by Wednesday morning. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will move northward to the Upper Midwest by Wednesday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will develop along the boundary from parts of the Central Plains to the Upper Mississippi Valley by Wednesday evening. Snow may develop over parts of the Central Rockies by Wednesday evening, too. Upper-level impulses and Gulf of Mexico moisture will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast on Tuesday through Wednesday. Additional upper-level energy will trigger showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern Plains Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Elsewhere, upper-level energy and onshore flow will aid in producing rain and highest elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Wednesday.
