A slow moving front extending from the Upper Mississippi Valley to the Central Plains/Rockies will move eastward to the Great Lakes to the Central Plains/Rockies by Saturday. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will pool along the boundary aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms from the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes to the Southern Plains. The showers and thunderstorms will move eastward to the Great Lakes/Middle Mississippi Valley and remain over the Southern/Central Plains by Saturday. A closed upper-level low over California will slowly move eastward to the Great Basin/Southwest by Saturday. The system will produce afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms as well as nighttime and morning rain over parts of the Great Basin and parts of the Northern/Central Rockies through Saturday. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of Central/Southern California through Friday evening. Rain and snow will also develop over some of the highest elevations from California eastward to the Northern/Central Rockies. Furthermore, rain will bulge into parts of the Northern/Central High Plains on Friday evening into Saturday. Low pressure off the Southeast Coast will be quasi-stationary through Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along parts of the Southeast Coast on Thursday evening into Friday and expand into parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic Friday into Saturday.
