Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 410 PM EDT Sat Jun 13 2015 Valid 00Z Sun Jun 14 2015 - 00Z Tue Jun 16 2015 ...There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over parts of the Western Ohio Valley/Upper Great Lakes and Southern High Plains... ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Southern Plains and Central Plains... A weak front extending from the Mid-Atlantic roughly westward to the Central High Plains will slowly dissipate while parts of the boundary remains over parts of the Mid-Atlantic by Monday. Moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will pool along the dying front producing showers and thunderstorms over the Mid-Atlantic, Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, and into the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley as well as parts of the Central/Southern Plains through Monday morning. In addition, rain will develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes on Sunday morning moving into Northern New England Sunday evening into Monday. Another front extending from the Northern Plains to the Central Rockies will move southeastward to the Upper Great Lakes to the Central High Plains by Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from Northern Plains/Upper Mississippi Valley and expand southwestward into the Northern High Plains by Sunday morning. The showers and thunderstorms will move into the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes into parts of the Central Rockies/Plains by Sunday evening into Monday morning. Additionally, upper-level energy over the Southwest will move eastward into Central Texas. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southwest/Central Rockies on Saturday evening ending later Saturday night.
