A weak trough of low pressure associated with the remnants of Erika will bring showers and thunderstorms to portions of Florida over the next couple days. A very moist and unstable atmosphere in place will result in the potential for locally heavy rainfall. A Pacific cold front will move inland across the western U.S. tonight into Wednesday. Onshore flow in the wake of the front will bring numerous rain showers and a few thunderstorms to coastal portions of the Pacific Northwest through Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms will also be possible on Wednesday in association with this system across northern portions of the Intermountain West. Elsewhere across the West, scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Thursday across the Four Corners region as monsoonal moisture remains in place. High pressure at the mid and upper-levels of the atmosphere will result a sinking and warm air mass across much of the central and eastern U.S. Temperatures will be above average, with afternoon high temperatures 5 to 15 degrees above average through Thursday, particularly from the northern plains and Midwest eastward to portions of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
