Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 341 AM EDT Fri Sep 11 2015 Valid 12Z Fri Sep 11 2015 - 12Z Sun Sep 13 2015 ...Heavy rain possible over parts of the Lower Great Lakes/Central Appalachians... ...Temperatures will be 10 to near 20 degrees above average over parts of the interior West Coast... A front along the Northeast to Southern Mid-Atlantic Coast will move northeastward into the Canadian Maritimes by Saturday afternoon. The boundary will aid in producing showers and thunderstorms along parts of the Northeast Coast and parts of the Southern Mid-Atlantic/Southeast Coast through Friday evening. A second front extending from the Lower Great Lakes to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley and into the Southern Plains will slowly advance eastward to the Appalachians and southward to the Gulf Coast by Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the boundary from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains that will move to the East Coast and the Gulf Coast by Saturday. Additionally, moisture pooling along the Western and Central Gulf Coast along with upper-level energy will produce showers and thunderstorms over the region through Friday evening.
