Major storm over the Four Corners Region will move northeastward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Tuesday night. The system will produce snow over the Great Basin, Southwest, and Central/Southern Rockies on Monday morning moving into the Central Plains and parts of the Southern High Plains by Monday evening. As the storm continues to move northeastward, snow will develop over parts of the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley and into the Upper Great Lakes on Tuesday into Tuesday evening. In the meantime, the snow will end over the Great Basin/Southwest by Tuesday afternoon with light snow over parts of the Central/Southern Rockies. In addition, rain will develop over parts of the Southern/Central Plains on Monday afternoon into evening. Overnight Monday, the rain will move into parts of the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley. On Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the cold front over the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley moving eastward into parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys and parts of the Southeast by Tuesday evening. Before the major storm moves into the Midwest, a front extending from Northern New England roughly southwestward to the Southern Plains will move eastward off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Monday evening with the southern edge of the boundary resting over parts of the Carolinas on Tuesday. Rain will develop along the front from parts of the Northeast southward to parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley/Central Gulf Coast, likewise, moving off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Coast by Tuesday morning while rain will linger over parts of the Southeast into Tuesday evening. Elsewhere, a weakening system over the Pacific will move into parts of the Pacific Northwest overnight Monday. Associated onshore flow will produce coastal rain and higher elevation snow over parts of the Pacific Northwest into parts of Northern California Monday evening into Tuesday evening.
