A complex deep storm over the Upper Midwest will have two strong areas of upper-level energy circulate around the storm's center through Wednesday. With the first area, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the associated front from the Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley that will move eastward to the Mid-Atlantic to the Central Gulf Coast by Tuesday evening. Rain will also develop over parts of the Northern Plain/Upper Mississippi Valley into the Great Lakes and Western Ohio Valley that will move eastward to the Northeast/Northern Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday afternoon moving off Southern New England Coast overnight Tuesday. Additionally, rain and freezing rain will develop over parts of Northern New England on Tuesday morning that will change over to snow over Northern Maine Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. The rain over the Upper Great Lakes/Ohio Valley will end Tuesday morning into afternoon. In addition, snow will develop over parts of the Northern Plains through Wednesday. Rain will continue over parts of the Northern Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley also through Wednesday. Meanwhile, the second area of upper-level energy will move from the Great Basin to the Southern Plains/Middle Mississippi Valley by Wednesday. The system will produce snow and coastal rain from parts of the High Plains to parts of Pacific Northwest/Northern California on Monday evening that will slowly taper off from west to east overnight Monday to snow showers over parts of the Rockies by Tuesday morning. The snow will end over most of the Rockies by Wednesday morning. Overnight Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front associated with the second area of upper-level energy over the Lower Mississippi Valley on Tuesday afternoon that will expand into parts of parts of the Tennessee Valley and Southern Ohio Valley by Wednesday. Rain will also return over parts of the Lower Great Lakes and Eastern Ohio Valley overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Elsewhere overnight Tuesday, a front over the Eastern Pacific will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest by Wednesday morning. Likewise, rain and higher elevation snow will return to the Pacific Northwest/Northern California overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
