A clipper storm will move from South-Central Canada to the Great Lakes by Friday. The system has very little moisture to work with, but dynamic enough to wring out light snow over parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley by Friday morning. Meanwhile, a dissipating front along the East Cost will transfer energy to a boundary offshore over the Western Atlantic by Thursday morning. Rain will develop along the Southern Mid-Atlantic and Carolina Coast, with some snow in the higher elevations of the Central Appalachians ending early Thursday morning. The energy will develop a wave of low pressure over the Western Atlantic that will travel northward into the Canadian Maritimes by Friday morning. As the system moves north, light snow will develop over parts of Northern New England through Friday. Elsewhere, high pressure over the Central Rockies will aid in producing Santa Anna winds over Southwestern California that will gradually decrease on Thursday and Friday.
