Short Range Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 233 PM EST Thu Jan 16 2014 Valid 00Z Fri Jan 17 2014 - 00Z Sun Jan 19 2014 ...Light snow for the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley with one clipper... ...A second clipper will move into the Great Lakes with more light snow on Saturday... ...Dry conditions will persist out West... ...Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees below average over the Upper Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley... A storm over the Great Lakes will move eastward to Southern New England by Saturday. The system will be void of moisture, but dynamic enough to wring out light snow over the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley that will move into parts of the Mid-Atlantic/New England Friday night into Saturday. The associated front will produce light rain along portions of the Central Gulf Coast Friday morning, moving into the Eastern Gulf Coast by Friday evening before ending by Saturday morning. In addition, light rain will develop over the southern most tip of Texas Friday afternoon into evening. A second clipper system will move southeastward from South-Central Canada on Friday evening advancing to the Upper Mississippi Valley/Upper Great Lakes by Saturday morning. The storm will produce light snow over the Upper Mississippi Valley into parts of the Upper Great Lakes Friday into Saturday morning. Elsewhere, a wave of low pressure will move northward just off the East Coast to just south of the Canadian Maritimes by Friday night. The energy will aid in producing light snow over parts of Northern New England with rain along the immediate coast through to Friday afternoon.
