Strong storm moving onshore over California will advance eastward to the Southern Plains/Lower Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening. The system will produce snow over parts of the Great Basin/Northern Intermountain Region into parts of the Northern Rockies then expand into parts of the Northern/Central Plains. While,showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of California into the Southern Rockies on Saturday. The rain will begin to wane on Sunday morning over California while ending over Southern California, but continuing over parts of Northern California on Sunday. As the storm moves out of the Rockies, moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will flow northeastward over the Southern Plains into the Tennessee Valley. The added moisture will overrun the boundary producing snow from the Northern/Central Plains to the Northeast on Saturday evening. Sleet and freezing rain will develop over parts of the Central Rockies into the Ohio Valley Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Snow will settle into Southern New England westward to the Middle Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Southern Plains moving into the Lower Mississippi Valley by Sunday evening. Light to moderate rain will develop over parts of the Southern Ohio Valley by Sunday evening. Meanwhile, easterly mid-level flow off the Pacific will aid in producing rain over parts of the Pacific Northwest through Sunday.
